Looking to the future

About me!

About Me!

Hi, I’m Deb.

I sold my house in Sydney in three days. Within four weeks, I’d also lost my job, survived a car crash, and ended a relationship that broke me. My three adult sons had moved out. Everything changed at once.
So I did the only thing that made sense: I packed a bag, said goodbye to Australia, and moved to the UK to start over at 55.
I’m a writer. I’ve published five books across children’s mental health, personal development, and relationships. I’m working on a dating memoir (because my taste in men is genuinely terrible), a ghost story collection, and a guide to free days out across the UK. I’m also thinking about a book exploring how depression moves through generations of women in my family.
I’m a ghost hunter. I’ve believed in the paranormal since I was two years old — 53 years of genuine experiences, not a hobby, not a joke. I hunt with an EMF reader, movement balls, and recording devices. I wear a pink onesie. I take this seriously.
I’m a traveller. I visit heritage sites obsessively. I’m house-hunting in the UK (permanent visa pending) and researching a small property in Tuscany for winter stays. I write about it all here.
I’m someone who’s battled depression more than once. I’m learning to be honest about mental health, starting over, and what it feels like to rebuild your life from scratch.
The ghosts are real. The bad dates are real. The healing is real. All of it is real.
