The Journey

Love, the very thing that binds people together.
Often tears them apart.
And, can leave one with a broken heart.

Do not presume to judge and understand another’s own ache.
For, it is their journey alone that they must take.

Do not assume to understand another’s heart.
For, it is their journey alone.
You play no part.

Love can make you feel alive and whole.
But, it can injure you with a darkness that hurts your soul.

Love and loss are hard to bare.
Pretending you’re ok.
And putting on a smile to wear.

Time heals wounds.
One’s you see and one’s you can not.
But the time to erase them can not be measured by a clock.

So, one day at a time.
One hour if you must.
Keep trying to move forward.
In your journey you must trust.

Do not judge people for how long they take.
To move past the pain, the hurt
And the ache.

As the hurts of the past,
Gently and silently fade.
Your heart will open up to new memories being made.

Till, once again they are free to love unashamedly.
But, until then.
Be gentle and kind.
And just let them be.
