What’s the best way to deal with negative thoughts?
Honestly, I am not always good at dealing with negative thoughts.
Sometimes I can question them. Sometimes I can distract myself. Sometimes I can talk myself back into something more reasonable.
And sometimes? They win for a while.
So I do not have a perfect answer. But the thing I keep coming back to is this:
A thought can feel true without actually being true.
That is the bit I try to remember.
I do not think the answer is pretending everything is fine or forcing fake positivity. For me, it is more about trying not to hand every dark thought the keys to my life.
Some days that means getting outside.
Some days it means writing it down.
Some days it means doing one ordinary thing in front of me and not trying to solve my whole life at once.
I rarely stop negative thoughts completely.
But I am learning not to believe every single one of them.
