Quick Q and A!

What’s a word or phrase that annoys you?

A word or phrase that annoys me?

“Darl.”

Especially from someone who does not know me.

It makes me cringe every single time.

I am not your darling.
I do not know you.
We are not close.
We have not bonded over trauma, taxes, or bad life choices.

It feels patronising and way too familiar, like someone has skipped several normal stages of human interaction and gone straight to irritating.

Use my name. Or don’t.
Both are better than darl.

Never heard that one before. It’s a strange one for me. I’m assuming it’s a shortening if darl-ing, which is, in my opinion, easier to say than darl. Maybe it’s just me but it sounds like a tiny, wee tongue twister! 😀

Yes, it just drives me crazy when complete strangers say it to me. One of the things that really bugs me😆
